Love is so peculiar.
It’s strange, candid and raw.
It’s emotional. It’s an appeal.
It’s unlike most. It’s strong. It’s abundant.
For the longest time, I’ve thought I’ve been deprived of love. I would say I don’t think I’ve ever been in love.
That’s because I diminished love to a singular form…romantic.
Tap the wells.
There are wells of love in our lives if we will seek them. The love of God. The love of family, friends, even strangers.
Sadly, these love wells often go overlooked or are hidden by the underbrush of misguided expectations.
Say yes or even maybe to those reaching out to you. Love has a way of being the quiet whisper in the loud room. Gently, politely coaxing you to itself.
I hope to start responding to love’s quiet calls. I wanna say yes more to those inconvenient coffee invites, new acquaintance meet ups, and simply lingering in silence on the phone with my mother.
Because one day, deep romantic love will come, and I want to hear it. I want my heart to be properly postured to respond.
I want to recognize love’s quiet voice.
So love well and tap the wells. Open up your heart to receive love in more than one form and from a variety of sources.
I’m learning.
Hope this helps!
