I know some miserable people. Not many, but there’s a definite few.
And I try my hardest and best to love them anyway.
They’re extraordinarily pessimistic, consistently surly and they have no clue that they’re in that position.
It breaks my heart really.
Their gigantic amount of distrust towards love and people fractures me. It seems no earthly words, no hugs, no compassion can heal them.
But I try.
They’re living in chronic misery. Not because they want to, but because they somehow assume that if they’re as off putting as possible those who scale their mountain of misery truly care. And anyone who doesn’t doesn’t care.
But not everyone has the tools, picks, and rope to scale that amount of misery.
So they stay on the other side, far away from the hearts of the miserable.
And here’s my encouragement…try.
Not using tools of pacifism and coddling their negative behaviors but with truth and love.
Let them know how deeply you care and want to be a part of their lives, but also let them know how much their negativity hurts.
And most importantly pray for them.
That mountain of misery needs divine intervention, a miracle to tumble it down.
And so far this hasn’t worked for me. (Honesty hour…haha)
My truth and love concoction hasn’t been potent enough. But the last ingredient of prayer is essential. Give them to God.
Pray and pray and pray.
And wait to see that mountain of misery come down.
Wait with me.
And while we wait, let’s continuously check ourselves and make sure we don’t join the miserable.
Hope this helps!
