In the final quarter of this year, I’ve had to get real real with God.

It’s been overwhelming, saddening and maddening.

I put all the deaths, cries for justice, bad news, and everything in a huge pile.

I pointed to that pile and said, “God, here’s my life.”

For me, being real with God is inviting him into the reality of my life.

I show him the crumbs under the stove. The eyebrows before the pencil. The bedtime scarfed head.

I need him to know the reality of my life.

And God’s response to my reality is his reality.

And his reality is this:

I am the God you can trust and depend on.

I never leave.
I never forsake.
I stand tall when you crumble.
I listen to the cries of the brokenhearted.
I heal.
I deliver.
I set free.
I hold you with my right hand.

The day I showed him that pile, he simply said, “Believe me in this.”

So in this overwhelming, saddening and maddening time, I’m believing in his reality over mine.

Hope this helps!
