A woman came on the train this morning.
My age or maybe a little older or younger.
And she came on with a confidence, an air that established her authority on the car.
I love to be around people who are so confident it makes me squirm.
There’s an unbreakable, fearless energy about them that is unrelated to today’s wardrobe choice.
They simply own it. They take up the space they’re in.
I am here.
My sister is one such woman.
And I’ve been taking lil sis notes on how to become one.
You make demands on how people treat you with no words.
You elicit respect without asking.
You establish your worth.
And it’s so beautifully powerful to me.
To be able to have such a deep sense of who and whose you are.
The words or silence, the actions or inactions of others are weightless.
You are living.
Let’s all live. And be free.
Because you are worthy.
Hope this helps,
Ambini
