What has love been for me?
It has been still.
A stillness and quietness of heart and mind.
It has silenced doubts and long-held myths.
The fables of failure and can’t and won’t were all ravaged by love.
It revealed that goodness is not all good.
At least not the good that I’ve come to know. It’s not that glossy, perfectly shined good.
It’s the goodness of worn and torn authenticity. Of pressure-bursted supernovas.
Of tough and grit, mistake-ridden, but yet so deeply, beautiful goodness.
It’s the goodness of finding the gold that everyone else refused to hold.
What has love been for me?
It has been still.
I will still love you through it, over it, underneath it, because of it, and in spite of it.
It’s been constant, frequent, and consistent.
Foundational.
It’s a plan for forever. That whatever comes our way we will still choose each other.
Love is still, still.
Profoundly grateful for love,
Ambini
